Genesys Chlorine Reducer / De-Chlorinator
Brands: Genesys
Origin: UK
Model: Genesys RED
CleanTech Engineering Limited
Genesys RED is a reducing agent for removing dissolved oxygen and residual chlorine from feed waters. Genesys RED is used in Reverse Osmosis and Nano-Filtration systems with polyamide membranes where any residual chlorine can adversely affect membrane integrity. Genesys RED will react rapidly with chlorine but relatively slowly with oxygen. Genesys RED should be dosed continuously to the feed water upstream of the cartridge filter. The recommended dose rate is 11 mg/L for each 1 mg/L of active chlorine. Genesys RED is fully miscible with water in all proportions, but if diluted, chlorine-free water must be used.

What it is
-
A liquid reducing agent (sodium metabisulphite solution) designed to remove genesys chlorine reducer (and to a lesser extent, dissolved oxygen) from feed water.
-
Specifically formulated for use in RO (Reverse Osmosis) and NF (Nano‑Filtration) systems with polyamide membranes, where chlorine can degrade membrane integrity.
Practical Considerations
-
Measure the chlorine concentration of your feed water.
-
Install a dosing pump to ensure constant upstream dosing.
-
Store in sealed containers, ideally between 6–30 °C and away from oxidizers.
-
Wear PPE—including gloves and goggles—during handling.
-
Monitor dosing—use residual chlorine testing to confirm effectiveness.
